ABOUT US

H.C Grossman Ltd commenced business in 1954 and became Grossman Agencies when purchased by the current family owner in 1964. It remains a wholly kiwi owned company and has prospered due to dedicated customer focus and traditional ingenuity. Initially an importer and specialist tool supplier the company held and still holds the TYROLIT abrasive agency. The company continued to grow and expand its range of abrasives adding the agencies of Deer sanding (coated) and Olympus reinforced products.

The acquisition in 1998 of W.R Twigg (established in 1895) added a specialist valve and fittings division. The Titon (brass fittings) distributorship and the agencies of Ham-Let (Let-Lok) high-pressure brass and stainless valves and fittings and Nitto hi-couplas.

In 1999, Grossman purchased Engineering Supplies Auckland which was established in 1987 and this added the engineering hand tools range and trade consumables range of products to the company.

Most recently, in 2006, Grossman acquired the company Mendelssohn Air Limited and added Jun-Air Silent Compressors, Wekador Screwdriver Bits and Far Threaded Inserts and Rivets as well as Far Tooling products to its range of imported agencies. A new staff member was hired to provide local NZ Servicing of these products to offer a complete service to our existing and new clients.

The company trades as Grossman Twigg Engineering Supplies from a modern warehouse/trade shop in Manukau, Auckland employing 12 staff and distributing products throughout New Zealand. The Company is the original TradeZone member and a current shareholder of the TradeZone Industrial Group which runs the Caliper trade tool promotions.

Grossmans carry an extensive range of products to suit most trades. In addition we offer a procure service for products not available ex stock. Through our combined experience we can identify and assist with selecting the right product.

THE TEAM

Dean Ellis – Managing Director; 30 years in the abrasive, power tool and engineering supply industries. Behind the scenes lubricating the cogs and always looking for fresh opportunies.  
Mark Holland – General Manager; Extensive knowledge of Sales and running a business with an Engineering Trade background and 20 years Hydraulics experience. Mark is passionate about Customer Service.  
Evan More – Fittings Product Manager; the “Boffin”, loves providing project or problem solutions. His passion is valves and fittings and he will make it work for you. Evan holds a Class 3 construction diving certificate and is a registered Pyro-technician and hydraulics expert. 20 years in the trade.  
Grant Freeman – Auckland & Northland Area Sales Mgr; Technical knowledge on Brass and Stainless steel fittings. Excellent knowledge of engineering products. 18 years in the trade.  
Mark Brown – Auckland & Central North Island area Sales Mgr; Qualified Saw doctor of 20 years. Mark understands abrasives and engineering products. Practical assistance with a strong service bias.  
Terry Bartlett – Counter Sales & Service, the self proclaimed “Fittings Guru”, totally customer focused and an integral part of our Internal Customer Service team. Terry holds a ME (Chemical &Mat) Degree.  
Sue Farland – Accounts & Administration: Looks after accounts payable, receivable and general ledger as well as other office administration.  
Bud (Herbert) Dickman - Customer Sales & Service; Abrasives expert for Internal Sales and many years experience with engineering supplies and hand tools.  
Anthony Jelicich – Inwards / Outwards Goods and Warehousing; Anthony has plenty of energy and is keen to serve customers at the counter.  
Sabine Vollbrecht-Ognitzki – East & South Auckland Area Sales Mgr - Heaps of engineering experience, sales and technical and passionate about customer service.  
Jake Rakete – Customer Service Team Leader and Procures man. Jake has extensive knowledge of our Suppliers and where to get items that are hard to find. He leads the Team in the Warehouse and makes things happen for the customers and staff!  
Doug Perry – Customer Sales & Service with good fittings and engineering hand tools knowledge. Many years of engineering industry experience.
